Student Opportunities at VRSVA
Veterinary Rehabilitation Services of Virginia offers various educational shadowing opportunities for students in canine and equine rehabilitation at our Gordonsville location, and small-animal rehabilitation at our Fredericksburg and Richmond locations.
We are currently accepting applications from students that are currently enrolled in veterinary school who have a strong interest in rehabilitation AND current veterinarians or physical therapists actively pursuing their veterinary rehabilitation certification.
Students will have the opportunity to shadow our team members — comprised of veterinarians and certified rehabilitation specialists — during appointments, and may have additional opportunities for hands-on work dependent upon the student's level of experience.
*Prior horse experience is required for all student opportunity positions at VRSVA.

Student Liability Release
*We require a signed liability release for all students that work at our facilities.

Students may visit for an externship for school credit.
Requirements:
- Students are required to have their own health insurance.
- Students will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to arrival.
- Students will need to have their own transportation and their own arrangements for housing.
*VRSVA does not provide transportation or housing opportunities.
- At least one reference from someone who has worked with the student in a school or clinical setting is required for all students applying to visit VRSVA.
*Prior horse experience is required for all student opportunity positions at VRSVA.

Students may complete hours required for certification at our facility or may visit on their own for further education.

Students 16 years of age and older may shadow our veterinarians and staff for experience hours.
