Anu Rajala
Originally from northern Finland, Anu grew up taking care of a variety of family animals, taking riding lessons, spending time in nature and helping her fisherman dad at the sea. She spent her first professional years working in the field of archaeology. Later on, always looking for new challenges, Anu pursued a degree in massage therapy. Specializing in sports massage and joint mobilization, she ran her own business in Finland before moving to Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Becoming a member of the rehabilitation team in Fredericksburg offered Anu an opportunity to apply her expertise in canine massage, which is when she realized her passion for working with animals. She loves to see the results of bodywork and other modalities used in rehabilitation to make a big difference in dog and cat patients — whether it is post-operation recovery or keeping older patients comfortable and pain-free. Anu loves to be part of each patient’s journey.
In her free time, Anu enjoys spending time with her family and beloved pets — newfoundland Maybelle, two senior beagles Min and Troi, and rescue cat Jensen. Her other leisure time activities include reading, doing arts, and traveling the world when possible.
